From Skiing to Sweetwater – there’s always something to do at Wye Marsh!
 

Skiers at Wye MarshCan you feel the warmth in the air? Well, the relative warmth? So can nature! This is an exciting time of the year as wildlife begins to stir, bloom, and thaw. It’s the time of year for milder temperatures, bluebird days, and spectacular cross-country ski conditions. Wye Marsh’s 25km of ski trails are groomed and ready for you to explore!

Most people are aware of the tremendous nature-oriented programs provided by the Wye Marsh but are not aware of the excellent cross country skiing available – with trail difficulties for all abilities of skiers. Cross-country skiing is a great way to explore further into Wye Marsh. You’ll be sure to be followed by chickadees, discover animal tracks, and maybe you’ll even spot the Barred Owl that has been sighted on the trails! Wye Marsh is so excited to be hosting the 30th Annual Sweetwater Harvest Festival on March 19 & 20, March 26 & 27, April 2 & 3, 2022. Join the fun and celebrate a uniquely Canadian tradition in a distinctively Canadian landscape.

Guests can escape to a time when maple syrup was made over an open fire, experience our history and explore nature at its best with activities like Sugar Shack demonstrations, Pioneer Games, Interpretive Hikes and more! The festival celebrates the history of maple syrup, and the role it plays in our cultural and natural heritage. Activities run from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Walking the boardwalkOur 25km of trails are perfect to explore hiking, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing from winding through the cedar groves, into hardwood forest, and to the floating boardwalk.Trails are open daily from 9:00am-4:00pm.
